A Los Angeles firefighter was injured battling a fire that collapsed part of a commercial building early Wednesday.
The fire broke out shortly before 12:30 a.m. at a two-story structure in the Hyde Park neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Roughly 160 firefighters worked for about 90 minutes to put out the flames and keep them from spreading to a nearby three-story building.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital after being injured during the forcible entry phase of the operation, the department stated. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
